It is such an honor when a former bride comes back for her first newborn session. I photographed Danny & Mel’s wedding in St. George, and I am so excited to meet their little boy in just a few short weeks!

This photo cracks me up!! She’s a total rockstar!
I did a studio session for a friend the other week, and I LOVE how they turned out. Having a studio is SO lovely. We played around a bit and then got down to cake business – well, she did anyway.![]()
Stacking, inside, outside – I love the way that 1 year old’s play.
Apparently she LOVES being upside-down. She kept grinning and begging for more!
I love how she starts out so dainty – just poking at it with one finger…
Hmmm… maybe if I don’t use my hands?
Oh yeah!! I think I’m getting the hang of this…
Oh yeah!! Definitely using the hands!!
Kind of squishy…
Mom? Are you SURE this is okay?
You can also find Elise’s newborn photos here. I hate how fast they grow up.![]()

The amazing make up artist, Emily Blodgett, and I teamed up for a session in my studio awhile back. She is AMAZING. I love the way she worked with Amber on her make up and the results were just stunning. Amber was a great non-professional model (although she definitely could be) and I wish her the best of luck with her wedding later this summer!
Enjoy!

Things have been so crazy around here that I haven’t had time to finish these. Amber came and modeled for me, and we had Emily Blodgett do her makeup. Amazing, right?

Here they are! I’m so excited. This went exactly as I pictured it in my head. There are a couple of reasons for this particular shoot – so I thought I’d share. My kids LOVE building forts, and I love watching their little imaginations go crazy as they play in them. We build all types – big ones, little ones, tall ones, dark ones, bright ones, short ones. Depends on the furniture available and how adventurous I’m feeling at the time.
Reason #2 – I’m obsessed with the Carters brand pajamas. Obsessed. We buy them at Costco twice a year. Once for the winter and once for the summer – so they have their “cold” jammies and their “summer” ones. LOVE. We’ve done this ever since my oldest was a baby – and now she’s actually on her last set. Biggest size they have so we’re going to have to come up with something else for next year (I’m tearing up just thinking about it!). So, I wanted a little something to document the ending of this phase in her (well, really MY) life.
Reason #3 – there has been almost ZERO snow this year. Its a little crazy. We usually have a few feet by now, but today it RAINED. Seriously. I’ve heard its been pretty mild all over the country, but STILL. My kids wanted to play in it – so we just decided to make our own. Pretty sweet stuff. You can buy it on Amazon. Insta-snow I think it’s called. Super fun times.
Reason #4 – They play SO well together. Cara is finally old enough to be interested in what her siblings are doing (except for the pillow fight – she just saw her blankie and decided it was naptime). They love to play legos – and my older 2 are adorable with their little sister.
There you have it. I’m in love with these photos. I can’t wait to print them on canvas’ and hang them in my front living room. Its going to be epic.

Did you miss me? I’m finding January to be busier than usual. This is both good & bad as I’ve worked & met with some great clients, edited crazy amounts of photos, and been designing an overhaul of my business, yet had little time to update the bloggity-blog. Poor thing. Anyway, I’m off to good ol’ New Orleans for a photography workshop (I’m teaching a class! Ack!) but will update you on all the goodness when I get back…
Just to make you baby hungry, here’s two from a newborn session this last week:

I can’t believe this cute little bundle made me baby hungry! I still have my own baby, there’s just something about them when they are so little… I love it. I had baby Hudson & his older sister in my studio for a mini session last week. Hudson had his baby blessing Sunday, and older sis will be getting baptized in January. I especially love the one of the two of them together. You can tell she ADORES her little brother.
