Bring on the cake! Woot!!

This photo cracks me up!! She’s a total rockstar!

I did a studio session for a friend the other week, and I LOVE how they turned out. Having a studio is SO lovely. We played around a bit and then got down to cake business – well, she did anyway.:)

Stacking, inside, outside – I love the way that 1 year old’s play.

Apparently she LOVES being upside-down. She kept grinning and begging for more!

I love how she starts out so dainty – just poking at it with one finger…

Hmmm… maybe if I don’t use my hands?

Oh yeah!! I think I’m getting the hang of this…

Oh yeah!! Definitely using the hands!!

Kind of squishy…
Mom? Are you SURE this is okay?

You can also find Elise’s newborn photos here. I hate how fast they grow up.:(

Cara – 1 year old

Here’s her official blog post! I love this little girl SO much. I can’t believe how fast the last year has gone. I’ve loved watching her little personality develop. She’s starting to balance, and loves her little push stroller thing. haha One of our favorite things to do together is play blocks, so I begged my friend Julie to come help me with this so I could have some photos of the two of us together (which I LOVE). Cara also dug right into her cake and ate it like a pro. That’s my girl.

Cara 9 months: Utah Lifestyle Photographer

Dear Cara,

You are a people person. If anyone walks into your field of vision, you have to smile at them until they make eye contact and smile back in return. You’re happiest when you have someone to watch, whether its your brother & sister, or a stranger in the grocery store, you watch their every movement. You hate being left alone, and cry when everyone leaves the room without you. Most likely within the next week you’ll figure out how to turn your “inching” into actual “crawling” and follow them out of the room so you’re not alone anymore.

You love to eat. More specifically, you love to feed yourself. Pureed foods & spoons don’t really cut it anymore and you seem less satisfied after meals where you are not involved. You do, however, still make a mess. Good thing you love baths too.

You will be content for 20-30 minutes if we pluck you down in front of a bucket of toys. This fascinates me. You pick up each toy, turn it around in your little fist, stick it in your mouth, drop it, and reach for the next toy.

You’re development is a little slow compared to others your age, but I don’t mind. I figure you’ll get there on your own, and I can wait for you to be more mobile. We haven’t even had to lower your crib yet because you don’t know how to pull yourself up yet.

I love that you’re little, that you have messy hair (you just eat your headbands), and that you have the brightest, bluest eyes I’ve ever seen.

love,

Mommy

Baby Hudson – Mini Session

I can’t believe this cute little bundle made me baby hungry! I still have my own baby, there’s just something about them when they are so little… I love it. I had baby Hudson & his older sister in my studio for a mini session last week. Hudson had his baby blessing Sunday, and older sis will be getting baptized in January. I especially love the one of the two of them together. You can tell she ADORES her little brother.

C’s Newborn Photos

It amazed me how much more stressed I was over this session than one for a client. Oh- the pressure. The judgement. hahaha It was really fun though, and she’s such a good little model. Here’s a few (okay, a lot) of my favorites from her photo shoots. Thanks for looking!

Getting Creative

I have a few things in the works (stay tuned for an announcement on Monday!) so I took my daughter out to play with some new toys the other day. Here’s just one from the shoot. I’ll post more as I edit them:
