I LOVED spending time with these two – they are so fabulous!! For a winter wedding there really just wasn’t any snow. Such strange weather we’ve been having. It was a bit chilly, but these two were troopers as we wandered around the Salt Lake LDS Temple shooting their bride & groom photos. Their reception took place in the Great Room at Thanksgiving Point. I LOVE the venue there – the Thanksgiving Point Event staff are amazing. Congratulations you guys!

I love this lace wedding dress in this photo, would you be able to put in contact with the bride, or the company that sold her the dress? This is exactly the gown I’ve been looking for.

what a beautiful couple. She looks so elegant. I LOVE her ring. I love their simple, yet classy accessories (on her and her sisters or bridesmaids). You caught and created some beautiful moments.

I’m so glad we were able to shoot their formals before the wedding day, because as we finished up with just a few bride & groom photos it starting pouring rain!! Their reception was so much fun though – congratulations you guys!

For those of us NOT in Las Vegas over the next week for WPPI, we like to put on a little gathering of our own. Its called unWPPI, and its a blast. Anyone is invited, just let me know that you’re going to come!!

What: Gathering of those not fortunate enough to be in sunny Las Vegas

When: Wednesday, February 22nd

Time: 7:00pm

Who: Anyone that is interested, but you must RSVP

Where: Lehi Photography Studio. Address is 1000 E 400 S Suite D. (Same building as Jump Up gymnastics & Purple Pig Pizza in Lehi).

Bring: a 3-5 minute little presentation about something interesting you have learned recently. It doesn’t have to be huge – last year we talked about lighting patterns, cool album design software, nifty little gadgets. Anything goes. Its fun to see what others have been learning!

Afterward, we will most likely head to Applebee’s and their 1/2 off appetizer deal after 9pm. Yum!!

  • Erin - February 21, 2012 - 6:53 pm

I am going to try and make it. I don’t live too far.

  • Alicia - February 21, 2012 - 12:54 pm

Dang it, I just heard about this today and don’t think I can make it tomorrow. This is brilliant and I love that its local. Do you do this every year? Not likely I will be in Vegas next year either…

  • Nate Isaksen - February 20, 2012 - 9:07 pm

    I’ll be there.

  • Glenn - February 20, 2012 - 12:15 am

I may be able to come. I am busy until 7:30, however I will be in Lehi already. Would I not be allowed in if I showed up late? 🙂

I’ll be there! Thanks for the invite 🙂

Here they are! I’m so excited. This went exactly as I pictured it in my head. There are a couple of reasons for this particular shoot – so I thought I’d share. My kids LOVE building forts, and I love watching their little imaginations go crazy as they play in them. We build all types – big ones, little ones, tall ones, dark ones, bright ones, short ones. Depends on the furniture available and how adventurous I’m feeling at the time.

Reason #2 – I’m obsessed with the Carters brand pajamas. Obsessed. We buy them at Costco twice a year. Once for the winter and once for the summer – so they have their “cold” jammies and their “summer” ones. LOVE. We’ve done this ever since my oldest was a baby – and now she’s actually on her last set. Biggest size they have so we’re going to have to come up with something else for next year (I’m tearing up just thinking about it!). So, I wanted a little something to document the ending of this phase in her (well, really MY) life.

Reason #3 – there has been almost ZERO snow this year. Its a little crazy. We usually have a few feet by now, but today it RAINED. Seriously. I’ve heard its been pretty mild all over the country, but STILL. My kids wanted to play in it – so we just decided to make our own. Pretty sweet stuff. You can buy it on Amazon. Insta-snow I think it’s called. Super fun times.

Reason #4 – They play SO well together. Cara is finally old enough to be interested in what her siblings are doing (except for the pillow fight – she just saw her blankie and decided it was naptime). They love to play legos – and my older 2 are adorable with their little sister.

There you have it. I’m in love with these photos. I can’t wait to print them on canvas’ and hang them in my front living room. Its going to be epic.

Looks like it was a lot of fun and a wonderful way to document your kids right now.

I’m SOOOOO excited about these!! I can’t even tell you. I’ve had this shoot in my head for MONTHS and thanks so my amazing husband, finally pulled it off today. Wahoo!!!

  • Mike Grace - January 31, 2012 - 9:11 am

Woah!!!! That is really cool!!!!!!!! What a great shot and a great idea! Can’t wait to talk to your husband to see how he pulled it off. What did you use for the snow? Now I’m sad that we don’t live by you so we can get our photo taken in this awesome indoor snow dome : )

Looking back, I’m pretty sure November was a lot colder than December in 2011. These two were such troopers though!!  We managed to get some great photos of the two of them around the Salt Lake LDS Temple. I love it there in the winter! Everything is so.. peaceful. We ended the night at their reception in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building Empire Room. One of my favorites!

Wow, what a gorgeous couple! Beautiful work as usual Jess! 🙂

Having worked with this couple over the past couple of months (just photographed their December wedding) I have to say they are truly, genuinely the nicest people I have ever met. So sincere, so easy to work with, so in love. Congratulations you two!! Formals & wedding to follow soon so check back!
