This is a mix of both their wedding & bridal session. Since Krystina was coming in town only days before the wedding, they opted to do a formal session the week after. It was so much more relaxed – plus we got to enjoy the beautiful weather up the canyon!

I’m so sad that the Smith’s have run out of girls to marry!! I’ve enjoyed so much seeing their family over the last year (Alison’s wedding, Brooke’s wedding (friend of family)), that they are just going to have to invite me to a Christmas party or something. 🙂 I couldn’t ask for better clients. Marcus & Aubrey are just the sweetest couple – it was a joy to hear their families share memories during the reception. I could definitely tell they are both well- loved!

Wow! These are so amazing. What a beautiful couple. They look so very happy!

I love the colors and what a clear day it was. How fun that you did so many of the sister’s weddings.

I thought this would be a great time for another business tip! Today I’m going to talk about my BLOG. Excited yet? There are currently two well-known platforms to build your blog on: blogger.com & wordpress.com. Mine is built on wordpress.com – and I upgraded so that I could use the direct URL feature (blog.picturememine.com instead of blog.picturememine.wordpress.com). Its cleaner & much easier for your clients to find -which can lead to more bookings for you, right?!

Once I created my wordpress account, I bought a ProPhoto blog theme. You install ProPhoto as a .zip file just like you would any other theme, and from there it is SUPER easy to customize your blog however you’d like. I began with one of their “starter themes” just to give me some initial direction, and then just went crazy from there.

This is what the Customize Screen looks like. From here you can customize anything about your blog – what your header looks like, your menu items, what is it in your contact form, how you want your galleries to display, font size, you name it!

A couple of things I LOVE about ProPhoto

1. My pictures look fabulous! I can upload them up to 900px wide and they will display that large (I choose to actually go 800px wide though). You can also upload your photos into “galleries” which make them super easy to organize and then just add to your post.

2. Flexibility to change at any time. You want to keep your overall brand the same so it is recognizable, but maybe you just want to freshen things up a bit. Super easy!

3. Tutorials for everything! Questions about how to install your theme? How to host your blog so that prophoto will work correctly? What are grids and how do I use them? The ProPhoto website has tutorials that will walk you through how to do pretty much everything. Plus, their customer support is also FABULOUS! Great guys, fast response, and super helpful.

For not that great an expense, you can have a professional looking blog that helps your photos look AMAZING! To add to that – you can get $10 off your purchase by using the link here. So, what are you waiting for!? Time to spice up your blog!

Just for kicks, here’s  a quick overview put together by the ProPhoto guys themselves. Enjoy!

I love these “just for fun” sessions! Mike & Cassie have been great friends since they moved to Utah – and since they were leaving us for Texas we had to squeeze in a session before they left. Cassie is an illustrator, Mike’s a programmer, they LOVE making smoothies, having picnics and riding bikes. *whew* We did it all. 🙂

These two were so much fun!! Aaron kept us laughing almost the entire time, yet he could snuggle up to Hollie and make her swoon as well. LOVED it. Aaron is also quite the golfer, so we incorporated a little of that into their session as well. Thanks you guys!

Wow! I LOVED shooting here. So much variety and gorgeous architecture – add in an amazing bride & groom and we couldn’t go wrong. These two had their reception in the Rose Room at Thanksgiving Point, so we were able to obtain a photographer’s pass and shoot their formals prior to the wedding.

Gorgeous photos! And I love her dress, so fun.

I love that these two met while Nate was on a study abroad in Mexico! How awesome is that? Ale has such an amazing personality- and it was so great to meet her family that all came up for the wedding. These two are just adorable!

    These are Stunning!

I LOVE the colors, their cake with the flowers cascading down and how clear the pictures are. Everything just looks beautiful.

I LOVE Halloween. A little obsessed. I’m not into the creepy, scary part though, I like the fun, dress-up-your-kids-and-decorate-your-house-really-awesome part. My kids insisted this year that they wanted to be characters from Jake and the Neverland Pirates and I had no idea how to pull it off. Luckily, my friend Jamie (who made my kids’ costumes last year) agreed to build up a photography tab on trade for costumes (hooray!!) and set to work. She took pictures from the internet of Jake and the Pirate Princess and made the most awesome costumes EVER. I LOVE them. To top it off, we already had a parrot costume (which both my other kids have worn!), so Cara got to be their feathered friend Scully. My kids are in HEAVEN. I hope everyone has a safe & fun Halloween!!

Love the costumes! My daughter is dying to be the pirate princess but can’t find anything remotely close. And I’m def not a sewer. Any ideas?

Wow, those are lovely! These really look cute!

That parrot costume has had quite a bit of mileage! My Ethan wore it, too. Your pictures look great. The kids have very cool costumes. How lucky are you!
