While I may not currently be shooting photo sessions or weddings by the dozens, it has been pretty busy around here.  For those that are curious what is going on while my photo blog sits dormat – check out this excerpt from over on our family blog and follow us there.

““There it is!! I see it!” An 820 mile road trip and a previous week filled with anxiety for the unknown ended as we pulled parallel to the campground and spotted a red truck pulling a shiny, silver, Airstream through the guard station and back into the campsites. Movies, books, and toys forgotten, the kids craned their necks to look out the window and keep the Airstream in view. I’m pretty sure I was bouncing up and down in the front seat with excitement.”

My little brother got married!! We were so happy to be able to spend the day with them and celebrate their wedding!! We hired Katie Landers to come second shoot/first shoot the ceremony and she is AMAZING. It was so fun to work with her and it was great to be in the ceremony and not photographing it. 🙂

We started out with a First Look.

And then the ceremony.

And the party!

A few bride and groom images when the lighting got nice.

Erik’s awesome suit is from Dress Code Custom. They do an AMAZING job with suits & tuxes.

They also had a reception in Sandy (the next evening) where my parents live, and wow. The backyard was incredibly decked out. It was gorgeous. We are so grateful for all the friends, neighbors, and ward members that helped set up. My amazing 2nd shooter, Jami Edman, did a fabulous job capturing the event so that I could mingle with friends and family, and chase my kiddos around the yard.

And just so you can see how incredibly cute my family is, here is a photo of us. 🙂 Sam is also sporting a custom shirt & pants from Dress Code Custom, and dang…. he looks GOOD.

I love seeing old friends, and meeting their entire family? Even better!! This family is so amazing, they were cheerful, friendly, FUN, and not to mention gorgeous. Both the parents and the youngest daughter are out serving missions for the LDS church and this was going to be one of the last times they were all together for quite sometime. We had a blast hanging out at This Is The Place State Park for an evening and finished up right as the rain started to come down….

SO fun to see the Foote’s! Love them!

Misty & Charles’ wedding was gorgeous!! The colors, the family, the tradition- everything just made the day perfect. I was so happy I got to spend time with these two. And this will tell you how far behind I am on posting – they are expecting a beautiful baby and I could not be more excited for them!!!

We made it!! If you’ve been following along with us on Instagram, (the awesome husband’s account) or over at CurrentlyWandering, you know we have made it to the East Coast! SO excited to be here. We’ve settled in (been here for a week now) and are enjoying all the other side of the country has to offer. Okay, probably not ALL but we’re going to sure try. 🙂 This also explains the lack of blog posts, yes? You haven’t totally given up on me? I have a good 5-6 sessions and weddings backlogged that need to make their pretty appearance here so you can just sit on the edge of your seat with anticipation, okay?

I am booking limited lifestyle family sessions while I am here – so let me know if you are interested!! Crazy excited about NEW locations, NEW cities and NEW clients! Hooray! We do plan to travel to Philadelphia, New York, and probably even down to Charlotesville and Virginia Beach in the next couple of months so don’t be shy if you are not located directly close to Washington DC.

In the meantime, here is a preview for my amazing client in Marshalltown, Iowa from a few weeks ago! Corn fields, farm cats, and amazingly cute kids!

I LOVE this magazine. The editor-in-chief is a great friend of mine and she has done a fabulous job creating a community of amazing women & information!! They are running a contest for their next cover image and I thought why not? So here’s my entry. Keep your fingers crossed!!
