It amazed me how much more stressed I was over this session than one for a client. Oh- the pressure. The judgement. hahaha It was really fun though, and she’s such a good little model. Here’s a few (okay, a lot) of my favorites from her photo shoots. Thanks for looking!

So great! Love that my bow/flower thing got put to good use. I love the close up one with the pearl bow and the white blanket – my style… perfect

  • Laura - June 4, 2010 - 8:28 pm

Jess, I LOVE these pictures! I bet you’ve been planning them for as long as you were planning her and both turned out gorgeous.

  • ashleigh smith - June 3, 2010 - 3:53 pm

Ok, I have lots of loves in these photos: First, I LOVE the picture of her with that elf cap on and she is smiling. Second, I LOVE that adorable multi-colored flower bow in her hair. Third, I am simply in love with your gorgeous couch and when you feel the need to get rid of it, I will happily drive up to UT and take it off your hands and Fourth, your little girl is absolutely adorable! Love that dark hair!

She is beautiful! What a fantastic family you have. Thank you so much for sharing. G.Max would have loved to brag about her!

  • Jess - May 18, 2010 - 6:56 pm

Was it Vanessa’s meet-up? I’m sad I didn’t get to go either. I was planning on it before Cara showed up. Hopefully the next one!!

  • Jess - May 18, 2010 - 6:56 pm

I’m secretly (or not so secretly) relieved. The last month is so hard!! Hang in there!

  • Jess - May 18, 2010 - 6:56 pm

My husband is amazing. lol. We had a birth photographer coming (she took the first set with both Sam & I in them) but then had to leave because she had 3 other sessions scheduled that night. Sam ran around like crazy taking photos during the delivery and then we traded off with the camera over the next couple of days.

  • Janice - May 18, 2010 - 5:11 pm

Jess- those pictures are amazing! I am so glad that you are all doing well. And I’m secretly jealous that you got out of the last month of pregnancy! 🙂

  • Mike Grace - May 18, 2010 - 3:18 pm

Good to hear you have your ankles back. ; ) I think it’s really nice that you were able to get soo many photos of the whole day. How did you pull this off? Advice for future parents who have never had a child before? : ) Thanks!

  • Julie - May 18, 2010 - 2:45 pm

    Congrats!! She is precious!

  • crave photography - May 18, 2010 - 1:08 pm

Loved the slide show! She is so beautiful and you sound like a normal mom adjusting “breakdowns” and all!! Hope we get a chance in the future to meet up. I just missed a big get together with a bunch of other photographers because I had a session scheduled that day. Maybe we will both be at the next one!!

I have so much to be grateful for on Mother’s Day this year. I am alive. Our daughter was born on Saturday, May 8th at 6:12pm. She was born at 36 weeks and is a solid 6 lbs and 18 inches long. She’s doing amazing for how early she was born. She’s eating & sleeping […]

  • Karen Bourne - May 11, 2010 - 9:06 pm

WOW, Jess! I’m so glad that you’re okay and that Baby Cara is so healthy too. I had borderline preeclampsia with Ethan…why I was on bedrest. I know that what you were dealing with is a very scary scenario. Yours was much worse than mine. I’m so glad you got the help you needed and that you’re recovering. You’re in our thoughts and prayers.

  • Sabrina - May 10, 2010 - 10:17 am

Oh wow! How scary and how wonderful that everything ended up the way it did. You and Cara were definitely watched over. I am so happy to hear she is with you safe and sound and you are in recovery. I hope the next days and weeks find you both healthy. Congratulations on your beautiful new arrival.

  • Jeana - May 9, 2010 - 11:26 pm

Jess, I am so grateful that everything worked out well. Cara is BEAUTIFUL and I am glad she is healthy and happy (as are you). Take care of yourself and I can’t wait to see more images.

  • Heather Gooch - May 9, 2010 - 11:26 pm

Jess! SO GLAD you are ok and your baby is doing well too. That is absolutely insane! I can’t imagine what you guys must have been going through. Cara is seriously perfect and so cute. Congrats! What a great Mother’s Day present!

  • Natalie Layton - May 9, 2010 - 9:15 pm

Yikes Jess! I’m so sorry you and your family have had to go through this, but so glad that things are looking better! Our prayers are with your family.

  • crave photography - May 9, 2010 - 9:07 pm

I am so happy to hear that everything is OK. You have been through quite an ordeal and I’m so glad that all is well. Sounds like you have an amazing support system around you. Your new baby girl is just beautiful. I pray that you will both continue to be healthy.

    Andrea

  • Mike Grace - May 9, 2010 - 7:19 pm

Amazing! Sooo glad that everyone is doing OK. I’m really impressed you were able to write such a long post while feeling that way. Look forward to seeing the photos and thanks for the update on how everyone is doing.

  • Laura Bunker - May 9, 2010 - 5:39 pm

I’m just a blog stalker. But, I’m so thankful that you are safe along with your baby girl. I took pictures of a newborn last fall who lost her Mommy from the very condition that you described. It was soooo sad. So glad everything turned out for you.

I love my little girl. She’s been taking dance classes through the local community program, and its recital time! She’s so cute in her little minnie mouse outfit. After her dress rehearsal last night, we sat in for the obligatory group photo and then split to come play around in the studio at home. Seriously […]

  • Mike Grace - May 6, 2010 - 1:34 pm

That is sooooooo cute!!!!! I’ll use this to help convince my wife that I need studio equipment when we have kids. ; ) Thanks for sharing.

  • Steve Vogl - May 6, 2010 - 1:27 pm

These are precious. They grow so fast. Great job.

For a couple that woke up to snow on their spring wedding day (not to mention Emily’s temperature of 102!), Emily & Weston were amazing! It was windy and fairly chilly, but these two were fantastic. I loved feeling their energy and the love they have for each other. *sigh* I adore weddings. Thanks for […]

LOVE it! It doesn’t look cold at all. Makes it feel like spring. 🙂

It’s that time again… although today doesn’t really *feel* like spring, it’s time for OSS’s Spring Art & Gift Show. If you’ve never been, you seriously need to check it out. Lots of yummy boutique craftiness, amazing products, and oh-so-ah-mazing food.  They also have an Academy, where they will teach you how to be crafty. […]
